“We writers (or painters or musicians or designers) are all adventurers. We choose to live the creative life, be it through literature or visual arts or music or dance. We embrace the quest, the journey, the terrors and the joys. Nothing we do in life is more compelling than creating.
So paint your landscape, compose your song, play your tune. Write your story.
Choose your adventure.”
— Darby Karchut

Award-winning author Darby Karchut is a writer, dreamer, and compulsive dawn greeter. A proud native of New Mexico, she now lives in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, where she runs in blizzards and bikes in lightning storms. When not dodging death by Colorado, Darby is busy wrangling words.
Her award-winning books include Del Toro Moon (Colorado Book Award Winner and Moonbeam Children’s Book Silver Award) and Finn Finnegan (IPPY Silver Award). Coolest thing ever: her YA debut novel, Griffin Rising, has been optioned for film.
EDITORS:
Nicole Brouwer was born and raised in Georgia by a family of Southern storytellers. In kindergarten, she wrote a story about a misjudged bush that won first prize in the MOSAIC creative writing competition and she’s been hooked on writing ever since. Nicole graduated from BYU-Hawaii with a degree in Social Work, married a great guy from Holland, and is the happy mama of three busy children. She loves to travel and excels in people-watching and daydreaming. Nicole recently completed her debut novel, The Lotus Ladies of London, and is currently working with her dream agent, Jenny Bent of the Bent Agency, to prepare for submission.
Hannah Stiles Smith is an educator, has a BA in History, and has worked for years as an editor, helping bring fabulous books to their full potential. She spends her spare time escaping between the pages of a book, and a foray into publishing seemed like the best way to channel that energy. She lives in rural Virginia with her husband and four rambunctious children.
