"This book was incredible. The magic system where the MC powers roses with emotions and then impacts other people's emotions when she delivers them is unique, creative, and spectacularly executed. The quest she and the knight are sent on (to rescue the princess's boyfriend to save him from death and save the whole kingdom from the impending threat of civil war and to undo the curse that turned Briar's best friend into a cat) is fast paced, exciting, and full of both dangerous adventure and meaningful heart. The way the magical world of the Poisoned Apple exists right alongside modern NYC is a fun, refreshing spin on world building that feels mystical and grounded at the same time. There is also some incredibly sweet (non-spicy), swoonworthy romance. 😍
