Amanda J Evans is an award-winning Irish author. She writes paranormal and fantasy romance novels as well as children’s stories. Growing up with heroes like Luke Skywalker and Indiana Jones, her stories centre on good versus evil with a splice of magic and love thrown into the mix. An early tragedy in her life has also made its way onto the page and Amanda brings the emotions of grief to life in her stories too.
Amanda lives in Ireland with her husband and two children. Her first novel Finding Forever won Best Thriller in the 2017 Summer Indie Book Awards and her second novel Save Her Soul won Silver for Best Paranormal in the Virtual Fantasy Con Awards 2017. Amanda has a publishing deal with Handersen Publishing and her first children’s book, “Nightmare Realities” was released on the 25th of September 2017. Nightmare Realities 2 is complete and with the publishers who hope to release it in fall 2019. Her latest story, Hear Me Cry, a fantasy romance telling of the old Irish myth of the banshee won the Book of the Year Award at the Dublin Writers Conference 2018.
Amanda’s work has been featured in a number of poetry anthologies in 2017 and 2018. She also had a memoir included in A Bowl of Irish Stew, a charity anthology for Pieta House and her short story Moonlight Magic was included in the Owl Hollow Press Anthology, Under the Full Moon’s Light, published in October 2018. Amanda is a regular columnist on the writing.ie website. She took over the running of the weekly “Really Useful Links” column in March 2019.
Taking writing courses and workshops is something she loves to do and learns something new from everyone. Amanda is also one of the administrators for the Irish Writers, Editors, and Publishing Facebook group as well as running her own Facebook page and readers group. Amanda is also a member of the IndulgeInWriting group run by Sharon Thompson.
Winterland, her current fantasy romance novel is out on submission with agents and a new Bronte inspired short story is at the editing stage for an anthology due for publication in 2020. Amanda has a number of other projects that she is working on too.
Amanda is also the author of Surviving Suicide: A Memoir from Those Death Left Behind, published in 2012.
